Jennifer Grassman opened Wednesday the 25th of August for Grammy Award Winning Folk / Country Artist Jon Vezner at Dosey Doe's!

Around 5:00 pm I headed over to Dosey Does, one of our favorite music venues in the Woodlands, to capture a performance by Jennifer Grassman. The building is actually a 100-year old Kentucky barn that they imported to Texas and rebuilt with add-ons. It’s really cool and rustic looking! The owner collects antiques, piggy banks, old movie posters, and all sorts of vintage items that make the place feel like a cross between a museum and very large log cabin with character. The stage is situated in the center of the building and there isn’t a bad seat in the house to enjoy live music. I was able to capture images of her and Jon from all over the building, a rare possibility with most music venues.

Jennifer opened for Jon around 7:30 pm and she was spot on. If you have not heard of her, please visit her website www.jennifergrassman.com and take-in one of her shows. You will then become life long fan. She is an independent recording artist based in Houston, Texas. Jennifer sings, plays the piano, and composes her own original material. Laughlin Photography has photographed her CD covers and spread for two of her album releases and will be photographing her and her band for new material for promotion on her up recently announced Florida Tour.

I cannot say enough about Jon Vezner. The songs he has written for Clint Black, Faith Hill, Reba McEntire and his wife Cathy Mattea are classics. He is a great musician that is really down to earth and easy to work.

I had a great time capturing these two musician performing; it was not work but shear pleasure.
